What is Instituto FAROL?
Instituto FAROL de Fluência Agêntica, based in Recife, measures how a company's teams work with artificial intelligence and helps change that practice. The method comes from a network of researchers from several institutions. It offers diagnostics, practical team training (the Jornada FAROL), immersion consulting, follow-up with the Raio-X and sector maps for industry bodies.
What is agentic fluency?
It is the ability to describe a piece of work, hand it to an AI, follow the execution and check what comes back. An agent is an AI that carries out the task, often connected to the company's systems, instead of only answering in a conversation.
How does a company start?
With a conversation. We usually start with one team: we measure where it stands and, if it makes sense, continue with training. Before any commitment, you receive a written proposal with the team, timeline, deliverables and price.
How much does it cost?
The Raio-X is free for individuals until October 2026, and there is a free individual version of the diagnostic. The team diagnostic, training, consulting and the sector map are priced by team size and scope, in a written proposal, before starting.
Who leads the work?
Giordano Cabral and Filipe Calegario lead the consulting and training engagements.
Is this employee surveillance?
No. In follow-up with the Raio-X, the company receives bands, never the exact score and never the content of a conversation. Each person sees in advance what would be sent and can choose not to send it. We do not accept its use for ranking, punishment or performance evaluation.
Who holds the data?
In the Raio-X, no part of any conversation goes to the company, and the summary is only sent with the person's permission. In work with companies, what FAROL may do with the data is agreed in writing before starting. Company names are not disclosed without written authorization.
Is the method validated?
The diagnostic is a synthesis of 80 sources and seven international references, carried out by a network of researchers from several institutions, among them the Center for Informatics at UFPE (CIn-UFPE), and applied in the field. The Raio-X is not yet: it is being tuned, with a small sample.
What is the difference between the diagnostic and the Raio-X?
The diagnostic is a questionnaire: it shows what people say they do with AI and where leadership and the team diverge. The Raio-X reads each person's conversations with AI, with their permission, and shows how they actually work.
What is the Jornada FAROL?
It is FAROL's practical training: four weeks with one team, one two-hour session a week, on a real company task. There is no individual certificate.
What is immersion consulting?
Two to four months inside the company's operation: one-on-one conversations with leadership, management and staff, a findings session with leadership, first changes before the engagement ends, and named owners for each workstream. It has already been contracted and completed at a software company.
What is the sector map?
It is a portrait of AI use in a sector, for associations, unions, federations and hubs. In a campaign with a start and an end, companies answer the diagnostic; each receives its own portrait, and the organization receives the aggregate in bands, without identifying any company. The first campaign has been accepted in principle and has not yet been launched.
Which companies have worked with FAROL?
We do not disclose names without written authorization. A two-month consulting engagement was completed at a software company; other applications were carried out with field partners, at no cost, to calibrate the instruments.
Who does the company sign the contract with?
Currently, contracts are signed through Instituto MOSE, the organization where FAROL was incubated.
Is Instituto FAROL the same as other “Farol” organizations?
No. Instituto FAROL de Fluência Agêntica, from Recife, is at farol-ia.org and is not affiliated with other organizations, products or projects that use the name Farol.
